Largest photovoltaic park in Europe, to be built soon in Romania
“The Austrian company Enery has started construction of the largest hybrid photovoltaic park in Romania, in Ogrezeni in Giurgiu County. The project will have an installed capacity of 761 MW, larger than a nuclear reactor in Nuclear Power Plant from Cernavoda city (700 MW).
The energy produced by the photovoltaic park (1.5 TWh per year) will be able to cover the annual consumption of 684,000 households, i.e. over 1.3 million inhabitants, the company says.
In addition to the energy production component, the investment includes a battery storage system with a capacity of 1 GWh, as well as the construction of an electrical transformer station necessary for connection to the grid.
The park is scheduled for completion in the summer of next year, and the announced investment will be 460 million euros (cca 400 million pounds).
It will be the largest hybrid project in Europe – currently, the largest photovoltaic park in Europe has 650 MW and is in Germany.
EU Directive 2023/970 to eliminate the gender pay gap using mandatory transparency measures
The European Pay Transparency Directive came into force in Romania on 07.06.2026 and significantly changes the rules in the labor market.
Employers will be obliged to communicate the level of pay in advance, eliminate non-transparent practices and base their salary decisions on objective and documented criteria, while employees will have extended rights to information and access to data on remuneration.
The new rules aim to reduce unjustified pay gaps and increase the pressure on companies to formalize and justify their pay policies.
It is recommended that the companies start analyzing salary policies and how remuneration is set in the organization now.
